4 Days, Tues. through Fri., 10am- 4 pm June
8 - 11, 2010.
Explore how new digital printmaking tools can be combined with
traditional printmaking. Experiment with fine art digital printing
processes. This workshop is for artists who want to go beyond
the “flat” digital print by using fine art papers, collage
materials, and traditional media.
The emphasis will not be on the final product but focused on
exploration, experimentation and helping participants develop new techniques
that are complimentary to their existing talents.
Participants will:
* Print with the wide format Epson 7600/archival
inks
* Use inkAID precoats
* Use water soluable & oil based monoprint processes
* Digital print on handmade papers
* Create & Print onto custom substrates
* Make Transfers to paper and to fresco
* Create and print onto emulsion skins
* Have assistance with techniques in Photoshop
Mary Taylor has taught digital processes
around the country and exhibited at numerous venues. Mary is the proprietor
of Taylor Art Techs, a digital support service specializing in guiding
the realization of creative goals through current technology solutions.
She works with Digital Atelier's Dorothy Krause, as studio manager and
assistant.
Christopher Shore received his MFA in printmaking from the
Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He has studied printmaking techniques
in Venice and Florence, Italy and has shown his work internationally.
His work explores many types of traditional and non-traditional printmaking
techniques. Chris is a printmaker in residence at CCP.

In this workshop we will
work with an abundance of materials to create rich and colorful artists
books.
*create a drumleaf structured book and
other book structures will be presented and you'll have opportunity to
create one or more books
*Book pages will be created from gelatin monotypes, paste paintings
and collographs. on a variety of substrates
*Each book will be unique
and you will be encouraged to develop the content based on the visual
cues created from your prints.
*Learn how to incorporate digital
prints into books:
using transfers & direct print methods
Mary Taylor has been teaching Beyond
the Digital Print workshops since 2004 and for over a decade worked
with professional artist Dorothy Simpson Krause. Inspired
by Krause’s
how-to books; Book + Art and Digital Art Studio, Taylor
will teach you how to create artists books sharing her own tips and
tricks for combining media. |
